The PTA at El Cerrito's Harding Elementary School is organizing a way to help a school in Island Park, New York, that was devastated by Hurricane Sanday.
An etree notice from the PTA Sunday night said it hopes to send "a package of gift cards and letters expressing support and good luck in their rebuilding efforts." The email said also that Target gift cards could be used "to restock classrooms and help children whose homes have been lost."
Those who'd like to contribute are asked to "bring a note or drawing from your child and/or a Target gift card to the office by Friday, November 30."

The PTA noted also that donations can be made through the national PTA to support the recovery of schools affected by the hurricane.
