El Cerrito city staff is recommending that the City Council on May 7 approve an average 14 percent hike in business license taxes as part of the city's annual fee adjustments. Most city fees would rise by 3 percent under the staff proposal.

Daughter Held on Suspicion of Prowling, Mom Arrested on a Warrant

When the mother of a 14-year-old girl detained on suspicion of prowling arrived at the El Cerrito Police Department to take custody of her daughter, police found that the mom had an outstanding arrest warrant. She went to jail. (See April 29 below.)
