El Cerrito and El Sobrante Men Suspected of Stealing $1.3 Million in Gold

Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office detectives are looking for David Dean Johnson, 49, of El Cerrito and Scott Wayne Bailey, 51, of El Sobrante, who are both wanted on separate $1 million arrest warrants.

Police from Northern California are looking for two Contra Costa County men charged with stealing more than $1 million in gold from a county courthouse display case in Yreka, according to a report by the Mercury News.

David Dean Johnson, 49, of El Cerrito and Scott Wayne Bailey, 51, of El Sobrante, are both wanted on separate $1 million arrest warrants, the report states.

Siskiyou County Sheriff Jon Lopey was among about 18-20 law enforcement personnel who conducted a search of a home in the 200 block of Pomona Avenue in El Cerrito in January in connection with the theft of the historic gold display.
