There are two Farmers Markets, one in El Cerrito and one in Kensington. Which one do you mean?

Kevin, I may not have a full or proper understanding of the police rationale for not disclosing the names of businesses, but it's the police who have declined to identify the businesses. I don't know if this is the wish of the businesses or not, and I don't know how much business employees or owners' willingness to cooperate with police investigations is influenced by the expectation of not being named. It appears that several nearby police agencies do provide business names in crimes. Albany, Alameda and Pinole are examples. Perhaps someone from El Cerrito police might be willing to post a comment explaining their rationale.

Police declined to name the business. In the past, they told me that they fear naming the business could discourage the owner and employees from cooperating with the investigation if they thought they would be subjected to publicity.

John, I did a story because the police issued news releases about the arrests. But you raise a point well worth considering. We don't have to publish every police news release. We're still exploring this new frontier of online journalism, where we don't really have the equivalent of back-page filler. I'm certainly willing to reconsider our choices and would welcome other readers' perspectives on this issue.

Apologies to our readers. A technical glitch prevented the poll from appearing with the article this morning. It's there now.

On naming the suspects, the police do release names of suspects, but it's our policy in small crimes, where we probably won't follow the outcome, to not report the names. It's out belief that it's not fair to report the name of a person who's arrested and later exonerated without also reporting that the person's name was cleared.

Terry, the police department usually declines to release the name of the businesses that are victims of crimes. Detective Corporal Gilbert Tang told me that police believe that business owners and employees would be less likely to cooperate with the investigation if they thought that they could be the subject of publicity.

I asked the police chief about the surveillance cameras. She said the cameras are on the Ohlone Greenway and have been there for several years.

Congratulations to John, who knows his local buildings! And thanks for adding the history of the building. Do you know if that color is the standard for PG&E substations?

Apologies for the delay in declaring a winner. The correct answer is indeed the Kensington Farmers' Market, but we weren't sure who was first. Reader "KAH" was first to mention "the Farmer's Market," but we weren't sure which one was meant, and Elise Prowse was first to home in on the Kensington market, with the bonus identification of the honey producer. We later discovered that KAH intended the Kensington market, so in the interest of fairness we are declaring both KAH and Elise Prose winners. Congratulations!
