The El Cerrito branch is the 196th store among the more than 300 nautically themed outlets in the chain. The company opened its first store in Pasadena in 1967 and came to Northern California in 1988 when it opened a store in San Rafael. In 2002, it started selling Charles Shaw wine, soon popularly dubbed "two-buck Chuck" for its low price.
