This is an independent family-owned cafe. Raphael's father, who used to work for the El Cerrito police force, can be found here serving diners and running the place. The business has been open for 30 years and is the oldest standing, continuously operating cafe in El Cerrito. The cafe was inside the Cerrito Theater for twenty years, and the cafe itself can be traced back to the '30s. The restaurant is conveniently located near the Grand Barber shop, the movie theatre and Grant's pawn shop. Breakfast options include french toast and omelettes. Lunch options run from the homemade soup of the day to hamburgers and grilled cheese. The tables and chairs inside are painted in bright primary colors, and the seating arrangements are cozy.
