100% Were impressed
Nibs is always packed with people. It was opened in 1949 by a man named Clyde. It used to be called Nibbers. Back then it was a simple menu, just hamburgers with carrots and a pickle, no fries. Hannah, the new owner, professes that the homemade pies back then were simply amazing. Nibs was acquired in 2000 by Hannah and her husband, Alex, a friendly and accommodating couple who can be found serving the many regulars who frequent Nibs. You will often find El Cerrito City Hall employees and members of the police force in here having a burger from the now-more-extensive menu. Breakfast is popular here. You can order a special with thick-sliced French toast, eggs and bacon for around $7.00 any time of day. There are also many different takes on the hamburger, still made with the special sauce from the original Nibbers. On the mantel behind the counter are hundreds of origami-folded dollar bills. A regular named Richard has been coming to Nibs for many years now, three times a week. Every time he comes in he gives a new origami shape to the owners to place on the mantle and walls.
