One of the unique characteristics of this local nightclub is its red walls, which date back to 1969. Mel-o-dee has been an El Cerrito staple as long as the velvet red wallpaper has been on the walls. It originally opened in Albany after World War II. Mel-o-dee has karaoke three nights a week in the back of the club, where plush leather booths are available and space is cleared for dancing. You can also find Wii tournaments on Tuesdays and football games blaring on the bar's TVs during the season.
