"Fight hunger with a click from your computer," says the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano.
In addition to the regular method of collecting food items left by donors at special drop-off locations, the Food Bank is also sponsoring a "Virtual Food Drive." Donors can go online and chose which foods to contribute and then submit a payment for them.
It not only saves time and money but also enables the Food Bank to meet the growing food need with grocery items that are not donated in sufficient quantity through the traditional food-collection drive.
The Food Bank also suggests that companies and organizations take advantage of the feature to sponsor contributions to the Virtual Food Drive.
The Food Bank is also collecting donations in the traditional way at these sites.
