Old Police Badge Surfaces, Briefly, at City Hall
There's no telling what historic artifacts will be washed ashore by the tides of change (of address).
This historic El Cerrito police badge came out for a brief appearance Wednesday, Sept. 1, when volunteers for the El Cerrito Historical Society were sorting materials as they complete the long process of moving into their new quarters in the Shadi Historical Room at City Hall.
The badge is believed to have belonged to former Police Chief Raymond R. Cheek, who joined the department in 1928 and left in 1944.
