High School Football: El Cerrito Takes On Campolindo In Clash Of Two Top Teams

The Gauchos and Cougars are both ranked in the top 10 high school teams in the East Bay

It could be a preview of a North Coast Section football playoff game later this year.

On Friday evening, El Cerrito High travels to Moraga to take on Campolindo High in a much anticipated match-up.

El Cerrito is second in the Bay Area News Group high school football rankings while Campolindo is 10th.

Both teams also played in the Division III NCS tournament last season. Campolindo lost in the second round while El Cerrito lost in the finals.

So far this season, Campolindo is 3-0 after defeating Washington High, 28-14, last week.

The Gauchos are 2-1 after defeating Cardinal Newman High in Santa Rosa, 35-7, last week.

The game Friday night starts at 7 p.m.
