El Cerrito High Football Team Takes On Another Highly Ranked Opponent

The Gauchos travel to Santa Rosa on Saturday to tackle Cardinal Newman High

El Cerrito High's football team continues its tough preseason schedule this weekend when it does battle with another highly regarded rival.

The Gauchos will travel to Santa Rosa on Saturday to take on Cardinal Newman High.

The game begins at 7 p.m. at Cardinal Newman's stadium.

El Cerrito is 1-1 so far this season. The Gauchos won their opening game by blitzing Sutter High, 34-14. They lost 28-25 last weekend to highly ranked Bellarmine High of San Jose.

Cardinal Newman is 2-0 this season after defeating Modesto Christian High and Novato High.
