El Cerrito High Football Team Faces Big Test On Saturday Night

The Gauchos will tackle highly ranked Bellarmine High in a much anticipated preseason match-up

How good is El Cerrito High's football team this year?

We might get some idea on Saturday night when the Gauchos take on highly regarded Bellarmine High from San Jose.

The contest begins at 7 p.m. at De Anza High School in Richmond, where El Cerrito is playing its home games this fall while its field is refurbished.

El Cerrito High started the 2013 season with an impressive 34-14 road victory over Sutter High School last week. Both teams went 13-1 last season.

Bellarmine went 11-2 last season and is ranked as one of the best teams in the South Bay this year.
