El Cerrito Gauchos Crush San Lorenzo Rebels 55-6

The El Cerrito High School Gauchos overwhelmed the San Lorenzo Rebels in the first football game of season.

On Friday night the El Cerrito High School Gauchos showed they were ready to play a quick, fast game. Junior Marcellus Pippins started out by returning a 96-yard punt for the first score of the season's football opener. Fueled by this, the Gauchos moved fast in the first quarter, racking up 28 points largely thanks to sophomore Jalen Harvey.

As the sky darkened and fog rolled in, the Gauchos kept scoring, putting 20 more points on the board and ending the first half with a commanding 48-0 lead over the Rebels.

Coming into the second half, the Rebels seemed more together and ready to counter the Gaucho's swift offense. The Rebel's defense gave up only 7 points leaving El Cerrito with a 55-point lead. The forth quarter saw the first and only Rebel score, 6 points bringing the final score to 55-6.
