WCCUSD to Consider Laying Off Some Employees

The equivalent of about 10 employees could lose their jobs.

Some non-teaching positions in the West Contra Costa Unified School District could soon be eliminated or scaled back.

The district's board of education on Wednesday, April 23, will consider eliminating the equivalent of about 10 employees, although some would only see reductions in their hours.

The action would save the district more than $300,000 and would be effective June 30, according to an agenda for the meeting.
