New Director of Communications Announced for West Contra Costa Unified School District
Walton comes from the Capistrano Unified School District.
The face of Capistrano Unified School District will soon be headed north.
Marcus Walton, chief communications officers for the district, has tendered his resignation. His last day will be April 8.

Walton has accepted a similar position with the West Contra Costa Unified School District, which includes the communities of Richmond, El Cerrito, Hercules, Pinole and San Pablo.
Superintendent Joseph Farley, who brought Walton into the district, also recently announced he will retire at the end of this school year.

At the last school board meeting, Board of Trustees President John Alpay adjourned the meeting “in honor of soon-to-be-departed communications chief Marcus Walton.”
Walton declined to comment for this story.
