Election Results for Measure K, Schools Parcel Tax

You can find the vote results here as they are released. Polls closed at 8 p.m. Tuesday, and results began being posted afterward. The tax would raise funds for the West Contra Costa Unified School District.

Measure K asked voters to approve an increase and extension of a property tax that provides funding for the West Contra Costa Unified School District. It required approval from two-thirds of the voters to pass.

The current parcel tax of 7.2 cents per square foot of building area is due to expire June 30, 2104, and Measure K would raise it to 10.2 cents a square foot and extend it to June 30, 2017.

A 1500-square-foot home would pay $45 more per year. Property owners over 65 years old would be exempt.
