Gauchos Post Perfect Regular Season 10-0

The El Cerrito High varsity football team won their 10th straight game Friday night with a lopsided 60-6 victory over the St. Patrick-St. Vincent High Bruins to cap a 10-0 regular season and win the division championship.

Friday night in Vallejo saw a familiar pattern for this year's highly successful and undefeated El Cerrito High School varsity football team – another romp over hapless opponents.

This time it was the St. Patrick-St. Vincent High School Bruins that fell victim, in a 60-6 win by the Gauchos.

The win solidified El Cerrito's hold on the championship of the Rock Division of the Tri-County Athletic League, with a 6-0 division record and a perfect 10-0 record to end the regular season. The defeated Bruins ended in the cellar of the seven-team division with 0-6 division record and 1-9 overall record.

The win follows the Gauchos' 57-6 rout of St. Mary's College High last weekend, and pushed El Cerrito's total scoring for this season to 510 points versus 74 for opponents.

This year marks head coach Kenny Kahn's fifth season at the helm, and his fifth winning season.
