Gauchos Payback: 16-14 Football Victory over Campolindo

After losing an influential game 13-16 a year ago to Campolindo High, El Cerrito High's varsity football squad pushed its season record to 4-0 Friday night with table-turning 16-14 victory over the Campolindo Cougars.

El Cerrito High's varsity football team came from behind in the second half to win a hard-fought 16-14 victory over East Bay powerhouse Campolindo High Friday night in Moraga.

The Gauchos' win was propelled by two second-half touchdowns by running back Marshon Andoin, according to the Contra Costa Times.

The victory gave the Gauchos a 4-0 record so far this season. Going into the game, Campolindo had been 3-0 and ranked first by a wide margin in Division III of the North Coast Section, according to the MaxPreps.com scoreboard. The North Coast Section, or NCS, is the third largest of 10 high school athletic regions in the state. The divisions within a section are grouped according to the size of the high schools.

The Gauchos didn't deserve to win this game at all. Their fans showed no class when they chose to taunt the Campolindo crowd. Well they'll lose their next 2 games, which are in-league, and probably more after that. Maybe they'll learn to show respect next time they win.

I am sure that the good folks of Moraga have never shown any disrespect to any resident of Richmond. Your hope for the failure of their kids to win in the next two weeks is an inspiration to all Job Creators.

Lol someone is upset when you go to a event such as a football game you have to have fun the gauchos had the better team and louder fans at the cougars home and won even tho it was a game that the refs seem to be one sided
