The Dramatic History of the Contra Costa Civic Theatre

Founded in 1960 by El Cerrito Wall-of-Famers Louis and Bettiane Flynn, the celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2010.

 Join the El Cerrito Historical Society for this behind-the-scenes tour of the theater and learn how one of the Bay Area’s most successful and longest-running community theaters achieved its success.

Our speakers will include longtime actors, including Phil Reed, longtime director and one of the founders, Kathleen Ray, and Dana Zook, actress and manager. We will tour the theater, its backstage areas and production shop.
