Now entering its fifth year, and also welcoming new people, this study group will continue exploring the mythic nature of our personal experience of the sacred. In the process, we will continue considering how stories from the world’s religious and wisdom traditions mirror our experiences of the holy. Through opportunities for writing, art making, and shared reflection, we will endeavor to expand our understanding of the personal and communal dimensions of our sacred myths. We will be discussing Joseph Campbell’s Pathways to Bliss: Mythology and Personal Transformation.
Richard Stromer has a doctorate in mythological studies and world sacred traditions as viewed from the perspective of depth psychology. He has a counseling and teaching practice based in Berkeley and specializes in the application of the concept of personal mythology to issues of psychological and spiritual development.
