Learn about the El Cerrito Community Garden Network

 Learn about the history of community gardens in the United States and about efforts to start a community garden in El Cerrito, at a meeting of the Green Teams Subcommittee of El Cerrito’s Environmental Quality Committee.

Our speaker Robin Mitchell is part of the Community Garden Network, which is working with the city on this effort. “Demonstration” garden boxes will be installed at Fairmont Park on Earth Day.

 Also on our agenda are habitat restoration at Baxter Creek and the Hillside Nature Area, fighting invasive plants, learning about native plants, wildlife gardening and more.
