4th Annual Berkeley High School Golf Classic

The Berkeley High School 4th Annual Golf Classic will be held on May 6, 2011 at scenic Tilden Golf Course, Berkeley. Proceeds support the student-athletes of Berkeley High School.

The event has sold out for the last three years and is limited to 144 players. The tournament is a four-person scramble, but individual players are welcome and will be placed on an open team. Shotgun tee-time is 12 pm.  Putting contest, long drive, closest-to-the-pin and hole-in-one prizes will be provided.

A raffle will be held for some fabulous prizes including an iPad 2, golf outings, gift certificates and much more. Raffle tickets can be purchased in advance or on the day of the tournament for $5 each or 5 for $20.

Cost of participation is $125 per player ($500 per foursome) and includes a delicious picnic dinner prepared by Bakesale Betty’s. Tournament registration forms are available on the BAF website at www.berkeleyhighathletics.org. Payment in full is due at the time of registration. Make checks payable to Berkeley Athletic Fund (BAF).

Last year’s tournament raised approximately $20,000 for Berkeley athletics and the organizers’ hope to exceed that total this year. With current state-wide budget cuts, the Golf Classic provides vital funds to high school athletics. Athletic academic tutorials, updated football safety helmets, lacrosse practice cages and CPR training for coaches are just some of items funded by the BAF.
