What's the Oldest Home for Sale in Albany?

Check out this four-bedroom home that's more than 90 years old.

There's an old saying, "They don't make 'em like they used to."

With that in mind, we thought in this week's real estate installment we'd look at the oldest home we could find for sale in Albany.

This one is a four-bedroom, two-bathroom house at 1014 Ordway St. The two-story remodeled home was built in 1922.

It sits on a small lot and is 1,998 square feet. The home is listed as selling for $998,000.

You can check out other older nearby homes on Berkeley Patch and El Cerrito Patch.

The real estate posts are not paid promotional spots. We post them because some people do find them interesting. I regret if that's not the case for all.

The real estate pieces seem to be hastily written -perhaps from a real estate flyer. I doubt the writer has visited the homes in person. If there were some historical or other interesting or hard to find information I would be more interested in reading about the home. Since that info is not included in these articles, realtor dot com is about as interesting and there are more listings if someone is actually looking for a house.

These posts seem to be written by someone who has very limited/no knowledge of the Albany real estate market. Perhaps if they were written by some one who does, they would have actual value and seem less like someone shilling for business.

@Jocelyn, for those wanting to share their knowledge of the local real estate (or any other topic for that matter), blogging is a great way to do so. Anyone can blog on Albany Patch regarding local topics and issues: http://albany.patch.com/blog/apply

Real estate info can be informative if it comes from a reliable source. How the CEO of Zillow or Trulia could know anything about Albany is beyond comprehension, or even some real estate editor at SfGate. Most of us in the real estate business write newsletters every quarter and make them available through mail or email. Often, that's the most up to date info you can get. This market, by the way is one of the craziest in years.
