Swim Center Parcel Tax Rates Expected to Stay at Current Level for 2013-14

The El Cerrito City Council will set the tax rates at its meeting Tuesday night.

The El Cerrito City Council is expected to keep the Measure A Swim Center Parcel Tax rates at their current level when it meets Tuesday.

The present rates — $38.61 per single-family residential unit, $29.73 per multifamily residential unit, and $270.66 per acre of non-residential property — would generate enough revenue to meet legal requirements for debt service and administrative costs, according to a city staff report. The tax generates about $438.000 annually.

The current rates are well below the voter-approved maximum rates of $58.46 per single-family residential unit, $45 per multi-family residential unit, and $410 per acre of non-residential property.
