New Plaza BART Station Construction for 9 Months
BART has announced that earthquake strengthening work at the El Cerrito Plaza station beginning this month will last about nine months.
New seismic retrofitting is beginning this month inside and outside El Cerrito Plaza BART station and will last approximately nine months, BART has announced.
Pedestrian access routes may change as construction crews move around, BART said.
"In addition," BART said, "while we’re doing this work you can expect temporary construction-related noise and dust. Please proceed around construction areas with caution and watch for signs with safety information and other notices."

Generally work will occur between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday, with some night work, according to BART.
Construction crews have been working at the station for the past several months.
