City Halloween Carnival, Haunted House, Dog Parade

The City of El Cerrito is hosting its annual Halloween fest on Halloween, Oct. 31, at the Community Center with a haunted house, dog parade/costume contest and indoor carnival featuring games, prizes and food and beverages.

We may not have masked balls or Old World costumed street carnivals in El Cerrito, but we do have the city's annual Halloween fest at the Community Center.

Grown-ups, children and even dogs can revel in disguise – and enjoy an indoor carnival, a haunted house and canine parade and costume contest.

The haunted house hours will be divided into two sessions: a non-scary version with lights on for little kids from 2:30-4:30 p.m., and and a scary one for braver souls from 5-7 p.m. Admission is $4.

And across the street in Cerrito Vista Park will be a dog parade and costume contest with prizes for creativity, attention to detail, representation of character, and cuteness/like-ability. Registration is $5 and may be done early at the Community Center or at the event at 4:30 p.m. The parade begins at 5 p.m.

The indoor carnival beginning at 2:30 p.m. will feature games and prizes, as well as food and beverages.
