Woman Says Suspected Pimp Kidnapped Her on Way to Police Interview

Police arrested Erick Ealy II, 24, of Richmond, on multiple felony charges.

A suspected pimp was arrested last week after he allegedly abducted his victim on her way to a police interview in El Cerrito, police said.

The man, identified as Erick Ealy II, 24, of Richmond, first came to the attention of El Cerrito police on June 3 when there was a report of an assault at a residence in northern El Cerrito.

The woman who called police told them that Ealy was her pimp and he had accused her of withholding money, grabbed her neck and threw her against a wall before taking money from her bag and leaving, police said. Police arranged for her to be given a safe place to stay and set up a follow-up interview with her. But she never made it.

Investigators set up surveillance on Ealy and found out he had other outstanding warrants. When they saw him leave on June 24 they followed him to a BART station and arrested him, police said.

Shortly after that, the woman came back to the police station and told officers that Ealy had abducted her on the way to her previous interview.

Ealy was arrested on suspicion of two counts of human trafficking, attempted human trafficking and false imprisonment with violence, kidnapping, pimping and conspiracy. He was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility under $1.6 million bail.
