Two Arrested for Pinole Minibike Theft
Dirt bike was a Christmas gift reported stolen Monday.
A 17-year-old Hercules boy was arrested Tuesday with a young San Pablo man after a Highway Patrol airplane helped officers find them in the open space behind homes on Falcon Way.
The arrests followed a report Monday afternoon to Pinole Police that a motorized dirt bike was stolen from a Pinole youth the day after receiving it as a Christmas gift. A Hercules Police press release issued today said the victim reported that the dirt bike had been taken north toward Hercules.
The release said local officers conducted "active saturation patrol" of areas on the city's southern border before receiving a report at 3:33 p.m. Tuesday of two people on a dirt bike in the area of Partridge and Pheasant drives.

Officers located the suspects in the greenbelt area between Hercules and Pinole, apprehended them and brought them to assisting officers waiting on Bluebird Court. The red and black motorbike was recovered and returned to its owners.
Arrested and booked into custody on charges of vehicle theft and receiving stolen property were the local teen -- whose name has not been released because of his age -- and Dameesi Rutherford, 20, of San Pablo. The press release stated that the local teen is currently in County Juvenile Hall and Rutherford is being held in County Jail on $20,000 bail.
