Robbers Hit Check Cashing Business on San Pablo Avenue

El Cerrito police are looking for two men who robbed a check cashing business on Wednesday afternoon.

Shortly after 1 p.m., El Cerrito police responded to a report of a robbery at Advance America Check Cashing on the 10000 block of San Pablo Avenue.

According to police, one of the robbers forced the teller behind the counter and demanded she open the register while threatening to shoot her. The man, who was wearing a white hard hat over a beanie, simulated a gun, but did not display an actual weapon. Meanwhile, his accomplice opened the register and took cash. The pair fled the building and were last spotted traveling north on Carlson Boulevard in a green 1990s Buick with a license plate similar to 4C4345.
