Richmond Man Arrested After Allegedly Climbing into Bed with Girl
Brian Hubbard is also believed to be the suspect in a prowling case in Berkeley, police officials said.
A Richmond man was arrested on suspicion of child molestation early this morning after allegedly breaking into a Kensington home and getting into bed with an 11-year-old girl, according to police.
Brian Hubbard, 22, allegedly broke into a home on Lenox Road around 1:10 a.m., according to Kensington police Chief Gregory Harmon.
The suspect fled when a girl awoke to find him in her bed and screamed, Harmon said. Police searched the area after the break-in with the help of an El Cerrito police K-9 but were unable to find the suspect.
In Berkeley, police responded around 4:40 a.m. to reports of a prowler at a home on Vicente Road, according to police.
A short time later, Berkeley police Officer Greg Michalczyk spotted a man matching the suspect descriptions in both the Kensington break-in and the Berkeley prowling incident and stopped him, police said.
Police said the man, Hubbard, was positively identified as the suspect in both cases. He was arrested on suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts against a child and first-degree burglary and was taken to county jail in Martinez, where he is being held on $160,000 bail.
