Police Seeking White Lexus Possibly Connected to Fatal Shooting

The shooting occurred on Tuesday night in the 3900 block of Fleming Avenue of Richmond

By Bay City News—

A 16-year-old boy who was shot dead outside of a Richmond apartment complex on Tuesday night has been identified as Terrance Forks, according to a Contra Costa County coroner's deputy.

The teen was found suffering from a gunshot wound in front of the Crescent Park Apartments in the 3900 block of Fleming Avenue around 10:20 p.m., Richmond police Sgt. Nicole Abetkov said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers arriving on the scene of the shooting Tuesday night encountered a large crowd of people, prompting them to call San Pablo and El Cerrito police officers for aid. Police are still attempting to locate a female suspect with whom Forks had been arguing before the shooting, according to Abetkov.

The sergeant said she could not confirm the relationship between the pair and that detectives haven't determined what the fight was about. Investigators are also looking for a suspect vehicle described as a white 1999 Lexus four-door sedan with California license plate No. 5RLD637.

Anyone with information about the killing is asked to call Richmond police at (510) 233-1214 or the anonymous tip line at (510) 232-TIPS.

The fatal shooting is Richmond's third homicide this year, according to Abetkov.
