Police Make Numerous Arrests for Theft

El Cerrito police log, June 21 – July 5

TUESDAY, JUNE 21

Theft – Police arrested a 24-year-old Albany man on suspicion of shoplifting at CVS at El Cerrito Plaza. Police arrested the man after responding to a report of a theft there at around 9:40 a.m. For more details, see the El Cerrito Patch story here.

THURSDAY, JUNE 23

Theft – Police arrested a 33-year-old San Pablo man on suspicion of committing theft. Police arrested the man after responding to a report of a suspicious person hiding near a parked vehicle on the 2500 block of Mira Vista Avenue.

Theft – A 46-year-old Berkeley man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting at Safeway on San Pablo Avenue. The man was arrested after police responded to a report of a theft at the store at around 9:05 a.m.

FRIDAY, JUNE 24

Shoplifting – Police arrested a 50-year-old Oakland man on suspicion of shoplifting at CVS at El Cerrito Plaza. Police arrested the man after responding to a report of the theft at around 12:40 p.m.

MONDAY, JUNE 27

Firearm – At around 6:40 p.m., police arrested a 35-year-old San Pablo man on suspicion of possessing a firearm and controlled substances after stopping him while he was riding a bicycle.

Theft – Police arrested a 44-year-old Richmond man on suspicion of shoplifting at CVS on San Pablo Avenue. Police arrested the man after responding to a report of a theft at the store at around 9:21 p.m.

THURSDAY, JUNE 30

Stolen Vehicle – At around 5:35 p.m., police arrested a 40-year-old Richmond man and a 31-year-old El Cerrito man on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle during a traffic stop.

SATURDAY, JULY 2

Robbery – Police arrested a 22-year-old Sacramento man and two 20-year-old Richmond men on suspicion of committing a robbery. The 22-year-old was arrested also on suspicion of possessing a firearm. Police made the arrests after responding to a report of a fight at Nation’s Giant Hamburgers on Central Avenue at 3:17 a.m.

TUESDAY, JULY 5

Firearm – At around 12:30 a.m., police arrested an 18-year-old Richmond man during a traffic stop on suspicion of possessing a loaded firearm. A 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old, both from Richmond, were also arrested during the stop.
