A person was struck and killed by a westbound Capitol Corridor
train as it approached the Richmond station Thursday afternoon, according to an
Train 541, traveling from Sacramento to Oakland, struck an
individual on the tracks around 3:40 p.m., according to Amtrak spokesman
Kulm said he could not give details on the individual on the
tracks, but noted that the Contra Costa County Coroner has been called to the
