A 25-year-old man was gunned down in Richmond after an apparent "neighborhood dispute" Sunday evening, a police lieutenant said today. The shooting was reported around 5:45 p.m. near Virginia Avenue and South 12th Street, according to Richmond police Lt. Andre Hill.

Lester Williams III, of Richmond, was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso, Hill said. Williams was pronounced dead at the scene, he said.

Shortly after the shooting, a 21-year-old Richmond man arrived at the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Richmond suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg, Hill said. The man is in stable condition and is expected to survive, the lieutenent said.

According to police, investigators believe there was a lone gunman who opened fire after an argument with Williams and the other victim. Police said that the shooter and victims know each other.
