A bar fight at the on San Pablo Avenue in Albany sent a bouncer and a customer to the hospital Saturday night, and two others to jail, police said.

(Pagsolingan cautioned, at about 1:40 a.m., that the investigation remained ongoing, so some information was not yet available. Police were still interviewing witnesses about what happened.)
When police arrived, "it was still a heated confrontation, with security and other people involved," he said. "It was still going on, as far as people being restrained."

Pagsolingan said a window in the Ivy Room was broken during the fight, leaving a bouncer with a "pretty heavy laceration to the arm." (The bouncer was taken to the hospital by ambulance.)
One of the patrons, who jumped to the defense of the man who originally was being thrown out, also was injured during the incident, and had to be taken to the hospital as well. The injuries apparently happened while security was restraining the man, Pagsolingan said.
"I'm not sure if it was due to a pre-existing condition but, according to the paramedics, he needed medical attention," he added.
The names of the involved bar patrons were not available, but Pagsolingan said he expected three arrests, in connection with crimes such as battery and public intoxication.
