A fire in San Pablo Thursday night left a family home
uninhabitable, according to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection district.
Firefighters responded to a report of a fire in a single-story
home at 2996 Flannery Road shortly after 8 p.m., according to Acting
Battalion Chief Steve Akre.
Firefighters encountered heavy smoke and fire conditions
throughout the home, Akre said.
The family of four had already evacuated the home when crews
arrived, but the family's small dog died inside a smoke-filled bedroom, Akre
Firefighters suspect the fire may have had an electrical cause,
The residents are staying with family in the area, Akre said.
