Fairmount Ave. Business Burglary, Car Stolen

The El Cerrito Police Blotter for Jan. 22-24 includes a burglary of a business in the 6500 block of Fairmount Ave., an attempted home burglary, a stolen Acura and the two shootings on Jan. 23 on the BART patch that Patch has already reported.

January 22, 2013 

Possession of a Controlled Substance - Hill St at Elm St 
Officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop for a vehicle violation. During the investigation, officers contacted one of the passengers, a 40 year old male from Richmond, and found him to be in possession of suspected powder cocaine. 

Stolen Vehicle - 1800 Block of Liberty St. 
An officer reports that unknown suspect(s) stole victim’s 1990 gold 4-door Acura Legend. 

January 23, 2013 

Shooting – Ohlone Greenway (BART Path) and Stockton Avenue 
Officers responded to a shooting and located two victims at the scene. One victim was taken to John Muir Hospital and the second victim was taken to Doctors Hospital. The suspects were still at large and the investigation continues.

January 24, 2013 

Auto Burglary - 400 Block of Kearney Ave. 
An officer reports unknown suspect(s) broke the victim’s left rear window and removed property. 

Commercial Burglary - 6500 Block of Fairmount Ave. 
An officer reports unknown suspect(s) entered a business and removed property. 

Attempt Residential Burglary - 1300 Block of Gayle Ct. 
Unknown suspect(s) attempted to gain entry into the victim’s house by prying an exterior side garage door. No entry was made and no loss reported. Time of occurrence, sometime between 12/19/12 and 1/8/13.
