El Cerrito Police Weekend Blotter: 1 Public Intoxication, 2 DUIs

October 18 


Brandishing a weapon – 5900 block of Cutting Blvd. 
Officers were dispatched to a suspect that brandished nunchucks and tried to strike a patron. Officers located and arrested a 21-year-old Richmond man for brandishing a weapon. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. 

Public Intoxication, Obstructing investigation – 11900 block of San Pablo Ave. 
Officers were dispatched to an unwanted subject that was provoking an employee to fight. Officers arrived and located a heavily intoxicated 48-year-old Richmond man and placed him under arrest. During the booking process, the man appeared to be suffering from a medical emergency. AMR responded to the scene and were in the process of loading him onto a gurney when he decided to confront officers and attempt to fight. The man was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. 

Warrant Arrest – Cutting Blvd. / S. 49th St. 
Officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and discovered the driver, a 26-year-old Richmond man, had a warrant issued for his arrest. The man was issued a citation with a new court date. 

October 19 

Resisting/Obstructing a Police Officer/Tampering with a Vehicle/Trespassing – 11700 block of San Pablo Ave. 
Officers located a 52-year-old transient sleeping in another person’s vehicle. The male refused to follow police officers to exit the vehicle and attempted to pull away from officers. The male was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. 

Domestic Violence Arrest – 11700 San Pablo Ave. 
At approximately 7:40 a.m., El Cerrito police officers responded to a report of domestic violence where a female hit the male with a dog leash. When officers arrived they found that the male victim who suffered scratches to his left and right arms. The 40-year-old woman was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. 

Possession of a controlled substance – San Pablo Ave. / Plumas Ave. 
Officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop and subsequently arrested the driver, a 40-year-old Richmond woman, for possession of methamphetamine. The woman was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released. 

Battery – 1600 block of Norvell St. 
Officers were dispatched to the address for a fight in progress. Officers arrived to find a man and two women physically fighting on the front porch. The subsequent investigation revealed that the women were the mother and sister of the man. They showed up at the address in an attempt to remove the man from the residence. The homeowners attempted to break up the fight and were also physically assaulted by the women. A 49-year-old Berkeley woman and a 23-year-old Berkeley woman were arrested for battery. The women were booked at the El Cerrito Police Department before being cited and released. 

Driving under the influence – Yolo Ave. / El Dorado St. 
Officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop and subsequently arrested the driver, a 24-year-old Richmond man, for driving under the influence of alcohol. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released to a sober friend. 

October 20 

Driving under the influence – San Pablo Ave. / Waldo Ave. 
Officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop and subsequently arrested the driver, a 48-year-old El Cerrito man, for driving under the influence of alcohol. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released to a sober relative. 

Recovered Stolen Vehicle – S. 53rd St. / School Ave. 
Officers located a 1995 Nissan Quest that had been reported stolen to Richmond PD on 10/16/13.
