Police are searching for two suspects wanted in connection with an armed robbery in El Cerrito on Monday afternoon. At about 2:40 p.m. on Monday, two suspects approached two victims from behind as they were standing on the sidewalk in front of their residence in the 300 block of Pomona Avenue, according to police.

One suspect pointed a black handgun at one of the victims and took his wallet, watch and car keys, police said. The suspect then pointed the gun at the second victim and took his wallet and cell phone, according to police.

The second suspect acted as a lookout during the robbery, police said. The suspects told the victims to look in the opposite direction as they fled the scene. According to police, the suspects ran southbound on Pomona Avenue and then eastbound onto Curry Avenue.

The victims recall hearing a car door slam and then the sound of a car pulling away on Pomona Avenue, police said. The suspects were described as black men in their 20s, standing between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall. They were wearing black hooded sweatshirts and black pants, police said.
