The following items have been selected and written by the El Cerrito Police Department.
Vehicle Theft - 3000 block of Yosemite Ave.: An unknown suspect stole a 1995 Honda Accord between Oct. 20 at 5 p.m. and Oct. 21 at 8:30 a.m.
Vehicle Theft (Recovery) - 3000 block of Yosemite Ave.: While investigating the above listed theft, the officer located a 1995 Honda Accord which was reported stolen to the Oakland Police Department on Oct. 20.
Burglary (Residential) - 200 block of Pomona Ave.: An unknown suspect entered the residence through an unsecured door and stole approximately $5,000 worth of electronic equipment. The theft occurred on Oct. 20 between 11:15 a.m. and 9:30 p.m.
Warrant Arrest- 11565 San Pablo Ave.: A 40-year-old man from Richmond was arrested on an outstanding warrant during a pedestrian contact. The man was taken into custody and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Possession of a Controlled Substance, Felon in Possession of Pepper Spray & Warrant Arrest - San Pablo Ave. @ Moeser Ln.: A 45-year-old man from Richmond was arrested for being a felon in possession of pepper spray, possessing methamphetamine and for an outstanding warrant. The man was booked at the ECPD and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Petty Theft and Conspiracy – Marshalls, 10794 San Pablo Ave.: Officers responded to Marshalls Department store on the report of a theft in progress. Upon arrival, officers contacted a 20-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman from Richmond in the parking lot. Both subjects were in possession of stolen clothing from the store. Another man from Richmond, a 19 year-old, was contacted in the store and officers learned he had a warrant for his arrest. The two subjects from the parking lot were booked at ECPD and released with citations. An officer took the third subject to county jail.
Auto Burglary - 11720 San Pablo Ave.: At 1:56 a.m., apartment security spotted two suspicious subjects tampering with a vehicle in the parking lot to the rear of the apartment complex. When the suspects spotted the security guard, the two suspects fled and were not apprehended by responding officers. The door lock to the victim vehicle was forced open, but no property was stolen.
Possession of Burglary tools, Drug Paraphernalia and a Parole Violation - San Pablo Ave. and Conlon Ave.: During a pedestrian contact, officers arrested a 30-year-old man from Richmond for being in possession of shaved keys, a window punch, a screwdriver, a walkie-talkie and a pipe used to smoke methamphetamine. During booking, the arresting officer contacted Parole and obtained a Parole hold. Upon the completion of booking the man was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility.
Driving under the Influence - 1700 block of Eastshore Blvd.: An officer arrested a 30-year-old man from San Pablo for DUI after officers found his car stopped in the roadway for no apparent reason. The man was booked at the ECPD and then released with a citation.
Driving Under the Influence - Central Ave. and San Pablo Ave.: Officers arrested a 27-year-old man from Walnut Creek was arrested for DUI during a traffic enforcement stop. The man was arrested and booked at the ECPD. At the completion of booking the man was released to a sober friend.
Drunk in Public – Mel-O-Dee, 240 El Cerrito Plaza: Officers were dispatched to the Mel-o-Dee on the report of a male pushing customers and causing a disturbance. Officers arrived on scene and found a 30-year-old transient in an argument outside of the bar. The man was subsequently arrested for being drunk in public and then booked into the Martinez Detention Facility.
Grand Theft - 640 block of Liberty St.: On 10/23 between 0000 and 0200 hours, an unknown suspect gained entry into a 2009 GMC van and stole over $6000 dollars worth of electronic equipment.
Theft w/Priors - 6921 Stockton Ave., Jenny K: An officer was dispatched to Jenny K boutique to take a report of a theft which occurred on Oct. 22. The officer learned the suspect fled with a backpack and the store owner had video of the suspect. Officers identified the suspect and located him several hours later wearing the backpack at Central Ave. and I-80. The 36-year-old El Cerrito man was booked and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Driving Under the Influence - Tehama Ave. and San Pablo Ave.: A 35-year-old woman from Oakland was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. The female was booked at the ECPD and released to a sober person.
Possession of Pepper Spray and a Stun Gun - San Pablo Ave. and Cutting Blvd.: A 33-year-old woman from Richmond was arrested for being a felon in possession of pepper spray and a stun gun. The woman was booked at the ECPD and then released with a citation.
Warrant Arrest- Eastshore Blvd. and Potrero Ave.: A 32-year-old man from Richmond was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant during a traffic enforcement stop. The man was booked at the ECPD and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Warrant Arrest - Kearney Street and Conlon Avenue: At 3:42 a.m., an officer conducted an enforcement stop on a bicyclist. The officer determined that the 35-year-old Richmond man was a registered sex offender and had a warrant issued for his arrest for failing to comply with a court order. The officer arrested the man, booked him at the El Cerrito Police Department, and then transported him to the County Jail.
Driving Under the Influence - San Pablo Avenue and Cutting Boulevard: At 3:43 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle and suspected the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The officer conducted field sobriety tests and then arrested the 23-year-old man from Richmond for DUI. The officer booked the man at the El Cerrito Police Department and then released him from the station with a citation to a sober friend.
