El Cerrito High Evacuated Due to Fire

The fire is out and students will be returning back to class soon.


Staff and students at El Cerrito High were evacuated due to a small fire in a girl's bathroom on campus. The fire was reported after 12 p.m.

According to a Nixle Alert released by police, the fire is out and students will be sent back to class. 

Police say the campus is safe and no injuries were reported. 

Police and Fire officials will conduct a joint investigation regarding the origin and cause of the fire.

The El Cerrito Police and Fire Departments are at the scene of a small fire at the El Cerrito High School campus. 

ECPD School Resource Officers reported the fire and began an evacuation. The students and staff are safe and no injuries have been reported. The fire was quickly extinguished and students will return to class soon.
