Community Crime Meeting Called by El Cerrito Police

El Cerrito police Monday announced they will hold a community meeting on recent crime trends, to be held at Madera Elementary School on March 5.

In the wake of community alarm over numerous home burglaries and other recent crimes in the city, El Cerrito police have called a community meeting to discuss recent crime trends and provide safety tips.

The meeting will be held Monday, March 5, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at . There will also be a question-and-answer session during the meeting, police said in a notice issued Monday.

The notice described it as "part of an ongoing series of neighborhood meetings hosted by ECPD. Everyone is welcome to attend." (A copy of the notice is attached.)

Anyone seeing anything suspicious in the city is urged to call police dispatch at 510-237-3233, the notice said. For a crime in progress, call 9-1-1.
