Bus Stop Robbery, Burglars Getaway, Stolen Car Crash

July 2nd 2012 

Stolen Vehicle - 5900 block of Jefferson Street 
Officer Arnaiz reports an unknown suspect stole a 1986 Toyota truck on July 2nd between midnight and 0800. 

Warrant Arrest- San Pablo Avenue @ Barrett Avenue 
Officer Chalk arrested a 43 year-old male from Hercules on an outstanding arrest warrant during a traffic stop. The male was booked at the ECPD and then transferred to the Martinez Detention Facility. 

Driving Under the Influence- San Pablo Avenue @ Columbia Avenue 
Officer Li arrested a 53 year-old man from Richmond for driving under the influence of alcohol. The man was booked at the ECPD and released with a citation. 

July 3rd 2012 

Residential Burglary - 800 block of South 55th Street 
While on patrol, Officers were flagged down regarding an in-progress residential burglary. Officers arrested a 27 year-old man from Sacramento / Oakland for the burglary after a foot pursuit. The man was booked at the ECPD and then transferred to the Martinez Detention Facility. Three other suspects eluded capture. 

Vehicle Collision with a Stolen Vehicle- Potrero Avenue @ Richmond Street 
Officers responded to a report of a collision between two vehicles with no injuries. Prior to arriving on scene, one of the drivers fled the scene on foot leaving his vehicle (Honda) behind. Further investigation revealed the Honda was an unreported stolen vehicle from Richmond. 

July 4th 2012 

Stolen Vehicle – El Cerrito Plaza 
Officer Jacala recovered a stolen 1991 Toyota truck which was reported stolen to Vallejo Police on 6/25/12. 

Possession of a Controlled Substance – 11645 San Pablo Avenue 
Officer Maldonado arrested a 31 year-old man from San Pablo for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. 

Strong-arm Robbery – 10175 San Pablo Avenue 
Officer Jacala reports an unknown suspect grabbed the victim’s wallet and cell phone from her hand as she sat at the bus stop composing a text message. The suspect was last seen running westbound on Central Avenue. 

Stolen Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Property and Vehicle Pursuit - San Pablo Avenue @ Barrett Avenue 
Officer Cooper located a stolen Nissan as it traveled from San Pablo Avenue onto I-80 eastbound. Upon conducting a traffic stop, the vehicle led officers on a brief chase which concluded in El Sobrante. The driver, a 48 year-old Richmond resident was arrested, booked at the ECPD and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. The passenger, a 54 year-old Richmond resident was arrested, booked at the ECPD and then released. 

July 5th 2012 

Residential Burglary- 7100 block of Gladys Avenue 
At approximately 1750 hours, ECPD patrol units were dispatched to the 7100 block of Gladys Avenue on the report of three males breaking into a residence. The three suspects were able to force open the front door of the residence, but were scared off by a neighbor before they entered. The suspects fled from the scene in a vehicle and were able to avoid apprehension.

July 6th 2012 

Warrant Arrest- El Cerrito Plaza 
Officer Schillinger arrested a 32 year old male on an outstanding no bail arrest warrant for DUI. The man was booked at the ECPD and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. 

Shoplifting and Resisting Arrest- Lucky’s Supermarket 1000 El Cerrito Plaza 
Officers at the EC Plaza were flagged down at midnight regarding a theft that had just occurred from Lucky’s. Officers located the suspect on San Pablo Avenue and he resisted efforts to be taken into custody. During booking it was determined that the 40 year old man from Richmond had multiple prior arrests for theft and resisting arrest and is currently on parole for theft. A parole hold was obtained and he was booked at ECPD and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. 

Possession of a Controlled Substance – San Pablo Avenue and Cutting Boulevard 
Ofc. Aguilar conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle for a DUI investigation. It was determined that the 30 year old female driver was driving on a suspended license. A search of a 31 year old male passenger resulted in the recovery of suspected narcotics. The woman was cited and released at the scene. The male was booked at ECPD and released. 

July 7th 2012 

Warrant Arrest- Belmont Avenue and Lassen Street 
Ofc. Wells conducted a traffic enforcement stop and determined that the driver, a 24 year old female from El Cerrito, was driving on a suspended license. The passenger, an 18 year old male from El Cerrito, was taken into custody for outstanding warrants for his arrest for carjacking, robbery, and DUI. The driver was cited and released and the passenger was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility after booking. 

Shoplifting- Lucky’s Supermarket 1000 El Cerrito Plaza 
Officers responded to Lucky’s for a report of a shoplifting. A 40 year old man from San Francisco was placed under citizen’s arrest and taken into custody. 

July 8th 2012 

Warrant Arrest – Central Ave. and Yosemite Ave. 
Officer Wong conducted a traffic enforcement stop and subsequently arrested a 21 year old Richmond resident for an outstanding warrant. 

Auto Burglary- 6400 block of Hagen Blvd 
An unknown suspect used a tool to enter the victim’s vehicle and steal the face plate to the stereo. 

Recovered Stolen Vehicle- Safeway 11450 San Pablo Avenue 
Ofc. Wells recovered a stolen Honda reported to BART police in June. 

Possession of Stolen Property- San Pablo Avenue and Schmidt Avenue 
Ofc. Aguilar contacted a suspicious person and located recently stolen mail and a stolen check in his possession. The 38 year old man from Richmond was booked at ECPD and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. 

Driving under the influence - San Pablo Avenue and Cutting Boulevard 
Officer Arnaiz conducted a traffic enforcement stop and subsequently arrested the driver, a 56 year old Richmond resident for DUI.
