Burning Piano, Bicyclist Leading Fire Truck, Possible OD Victim
Many thanks to El Cerrito reader Mary Barnsdale, who was at the Albany Bulb on Thursday night and sent these photos of the police and fire response to emergencies whose details we haven't fully fathomed.
Albany police and firefighters were called out to the on Thursday night to check on a man who looked like he might be having an overdose, Sgt. Chris Willis said early Friday morning.
There was a small fire going when authorities arrived at about 6 p.m., but Willis said he didn't think the two incidents were related. Firefighters took the man to the hospital for medical care; no further information was available about his condition.
of El Cerrito said in an email to Patch that she witnessed emergency vehicles, a man on a bicycle leading a fire truck up the fire road, a burning piano in the Cover/bunker, and emergency crews treating a man on the ground of the Neck.
