Bomb Squad Finds No Bomb

The Walnut Creek police bomb squad was summoned by El Cerrito police to an apartment house across the street from Fairmont Elementary School Tuesday, but no danger was found beyond bad wiring in the house, police said.

The Walnut Creek police bomb squad was summoned to El Cerrito Tuesday afternoon after El Cerrito police found a potential hazard in an apartment house, but no danger was found, police said.

As El Cerrito police were conducting an investigation at a house at Stockton and Lexington avenues – across the street from Fairmont Elementary School and caddy-corner from the El Cerrito Library – in a case that involved an arrest last week, they found a potential danger that caused them to request assistance about 3:30 p.m. from the Walnut Creek bomb squad, said El Cerrito police Lt. Steve Bonini.

The bomb squad responded, and it was determined that the source of concern was "some bad wiring," Bonini said.
