2 Pounds Pot Found, Alleged Murder Threats at Lucky & Nation's

The El Cerrito Police Blotter for July 20-22 shows an arrest for embezzlement of $9,500 from CVS, a pot bust netting nearly two pounds of marijuana and a robbery at Lucky where an alleged liquor thief threatened to kill the manager.

JULY 20th 2012 

Strong Arm Robbery – Lucky (1000 El Cerrito Plaza) 
A male suspect concealed a bottle of alcohol and left the store without paying at approximately 0950 hours. The manager confronted the suspect who claimed to have a gun and threatened to “murder” the manager. 


Embezzlement – CVS (670 El Cerrito Plaza) 
Officer Wells accepted the arrest of a 39-year-old male from El Cerrito who embezzled over $9,500 in merchandise and money from CVS between 2007 and 2012. 

Domestic Violence – San Pablo Ave at Fairmount Avenue 
Officer Wells arrested a 30-year-old Oakland man, at 1444 hours, after an argument with his fiancée became physical and he grabbed her arm, leaving a bruise. 

Drug possession – San Pablo Ave at Bayview Ave 
Officer Schillinger arrested a 28-year-old female resident of Richmond, at 0127 hours, after she was found in possession of ecstasy during a traffic stop. 

Warrant arrest – San Pablo Ave at Bayview Ave 
Officer Evans arrested a 24-year-old Richmond man, at 0201 hours, after he was found to have an outstanding warrant during a suspicious vehicle investigation. 

JULY 21st 2012 

Criminal Threats – Nations (6060 Central Avenue) 
Officer Wells arrested a 45-year-old male Oakland resident, at 0748 hours, after he caused a disturbance, acted aggressively towards patrons in the restaurant, and threatened to kill an employee. The man also threatened to kill officers upon their arrival. 

Marijuana possession – San Pablo Ave at Hill Street 
Officer Aguilar arrested a 19-year-old male resident of Rodeo and an 18-year-old male transient at 0014 hour during a traffic stop after they were found to be transporting almost 2 pounds of marijuana. 

JULY 22nd 2012 

Public intoxication – San Pablo Ave at Carlson Blvd 
Officer Aguilar arrested a 35-year-old male resident of El Cerrito, at 0220 hours, after the man was found staggering in the roadway of San Pablo Ave and was determined to be too intoxicated to care for himself. 

Stolen vehicle recovery - South 55th Street at Creely Ave 
A stolen Nissan was recovered at 0310 hours. The car was reported stolen to Berkeley PD on July 20th . 

Warrant arrest - Key Blvd at Humboldt Ave 
Officer Thepkaysone arrested a 24-year-old female resident of Berkeley at 0456 hours based on two vehicle theft warrants, during a suspicious vehicle investigation.

A neighbor of mine on Colusa tried to give him food when he was on Colusa, but he refused, so IRead More never tried. Dorothy, is that the shelter near the Berkeley Historical Society/Veteran's Building? Perhaps he would need a ride to it. Perhaps he's concerned about leaving his things there if he can't be there during the day. I'm afraid I don't know enough about it.

Lucy, I like the idea in principal, but in reality I think it would just give ECPD more work to do.Read More "People hanging out" doesn't necessarily translate to a friendly,fun-filled, folksy kind of environment. It *can* mean quite the reverse. "Midnight On the Ohlone" sounds like a new recording. Something like "I left my little babeeeeee, down by the tracks....and now I want her back....she's a needle in the haaaaaaay staaaaack...' Arhoolie awaits.

What a great idea for pocket parks!!! I am all for them. Instead of spening a big amount on oneRead More (which we don't have space anyway), I would like to see many mini parks of $20,000 along the Bart tracks. With more visibility and people hanging out, it would make Bart paths safer too, especially the one around fairmont park. Really mini pocket parks just needs some play structures, benches and tables there.
