UPDATE: All BART Stations Reopen After Refinery Fire Controlled

Service was halted temporarily at three stations after the Chevron Refinery fire was reported.

Service at BART's Richmond, El Cerrito Del Norte and El Cerrito Plaza stations was shut down Monday evening in response to a and shelter-in-place warning.

The two El Cerrito stations reopened around 9:45 p.m. The Richmond station reopened around 11:30 p.m.

The shutdown followed the 6:40 p.m. report of a fire at the Chevron refinery in Richmond. There was no bus bridge during the shutdown of the stations, according to BART police.

Coast Starlight (14) has not arrived OKJ yet as of time of your post per Julie. So doubt if you heard that train. BART shut down at RIC; not sure of that impact on Amtrak.

FYI, Blue Unit circus train will pass thru Richmond well beyond midnight on UPRR headed to Oakland from Anaheim. Impressive sight day or night. Get some pizza and hang out trackside!

Richmond BART station has reopened. No luck reaching Amtrak, but train status page shows the Coast Starlight #14 scheduled to arrive at 12:18 a.m. Tuesday. That's an hour, 58 minutes late.

I heard that BART restored between Del Norte and Richmond. Hope Amtrak is smooth--Called 800 number and no reported delays North or Southbound.

BART is definitely running this morning all the way to the Richmond station. Saw the trains myself, with passengers in them, at about 7am.
