Amtrak Still Investigating Death of Transient Struck By Train

Christopher Chisholm, 38, was killed on Monday night.

Amtrak is continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to the death of a homeless man on the train tracks in Richmond on Monday evening, a spokeswoman said today.

Christopher Chisholm, 38, was found dead near a Bakersfield-bound train around 7:30 p.m. near Richmond Parkway, authorities said.

Amtrak is investigating a passenger's claim that they saw someone jump from the back of the train at the time of the death, according to Amtrak spokeswoman Vernae Graham.

She said the report has not been confirmed. No other injuries were reported in the incident.
