Alleged Christmas Assault on Girlfriend, 2 Home Break-ins

The El Cerrito Police Blotter for Dec. 25-30 includes the Christmas Day arrest of an city resident who allegedly grabbed his girlfriend by the throat and threw her to the ground, two home burglaries, and two 1994 vehicles stolen.

December 25, 2012 

Domestic Violence Arrest – 2000 block of Key Boulevard 
El Cerrito police officers arrested an El Cerrito male resident for domestic violence after he grabbed his girlfriend by the throat and threw her to the ground. The female suffered minor injuries. Officers obtained an Emergency Protective Order for the woman. The man was booked at County Jail. 

Possession of Stolen Property/Burglary Tools – Cutting Boulevard at Key Boulevard 
Cpl. Brosas arrested a male from San Pablo for possession of a “shaved key” used to steal vehicles and miscellaneous collectible coins, which the male admitted to stealing from his mother’s house in San Pablo. The suspect was also on parole for prior stolen vehicle arrests and was placed on a parole hold (warrant) by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. The male was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. 

Stolen Vehicle – 2700 block of Yuba Street 
Officer Thepkaysone reports the victim’s burgundy 1994 2dr Honda Accord was stolen between 5pm and 6:30pm. 

Warrant Arrest – Nations Hamburgers 6060 Central Avenue 
Officers responded to a report of a disturbance involving a customer at Nations. Officer Guzman contacted a 39-year-old man from Oakland and determined that he had a warrant for battery from Oakland. The man was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. 

Recovered Stolen Vehicle – 5500 Block of Zara Avenue 
Officer Thepkaysone located a 1992 Honda Accord reported stolen to Benicia PD several days ago. 

December 26, 2012 

Vandalism - 1200 block of Liberty 
An unknown suspect used a brick to break the windshield and damage both passenger side windows on the victim’s Lexus. 

December 27, 2012 

Stolen Vehicle– Walgreens 11565 San Pablo Avenue 
Unknown suspect(s) stole the victims 1994 Acura Vigor while it was parked in the Walgreens parking lot. 

December 28, 2012 

Recovered Stolen Vehicle – Parking lot of 11555 San Pablo Ave. 
Officer Wells located a 1990 Honda Accord that was stolen from Berkeley on 12/27/12. 

Possession of Controlled Substances and Warrant Arrest – 1700 block of Eastshore Blvd. 
Officer Wells conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 44-year-old Richmond woman for an outstanding felony warrant. During the booking process at the police department, Officer Wells located methamphetamine in her possession. After booking, the woman was transported to County Jail. 

December 29, 2012 

Warrant Arrest – 1700 block of Eastshore Blvd. 
Officer Wells conducted a pedestrian stop and subsequently arrested a 24-year-old Richmond man for a felony warrant. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. 

Warrant Arrest – Cutting Blvd. @ Peerless St. 
Cpl. Wahrlich conducted a traffic enforcement stop and subsequently arrested the passenger, a 17 year-old Richmond female for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. The female was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to Juvenile Hall. 

Driving Under the Influence - San Pablo Avenue @ Carlson Boulevard 
Corporal Hernandez conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested a 22-year-old female from Colton for DUI. The female was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released to a sober friend with a citation. 

Possess Drug Paraphernalia, Burglary Tools, and Stolen Property – San Pablo Ave. @ Knott Ave. 
Officer Wong conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested a juvenile for being in possession of a methamphetamine pipe, suspected stolen credit cards and a burglary tool. The juvenile was booked and then transported to Juvenile Hall. 

Driving Under the Influence - San Pablo Ave @ Sacramento St 
Officer Aguilar conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested a 24-year-old male from San Pablo for DUI. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released to a sober friend with a citation. 

December 30, 2012 

Residential Burglary - 2600 block of Mira Vista Drive 
Cpl. Wahrlich reports an unknown suspect broke out the rear window of the residence, gained entry and then stole miscellaneous items. Time of occurrence: 30th between 1500-1610 hours. 

Warrant Arrest - Victor Avenue @ South 52nd Street 
Officer Evans arrested a 25 year-old Lathrop resident on an outstanding arrest warrant. The subject was booked at the ECPD and then transported to the MDF. 

Residential Burglary - 2600 block of Francisco Way 
Cpl. Hernandez reports an unknown suspect entered the residence via laundry room window and stole miscellaneous items. TOO: 30th between 0700-2100 hours. 

Driving Under the Influence – El Cerrito 
Officer Evans arrested a 22 year-old Berkeley resident for driving under the influence of controlled substance. The subject was booked at the ECPD.
